Sooooo Much Time!!

Our first week in Sliven, Bulgaria started out with a very good plan. In the mornings we would visit the homes of different members in a local Roma church. In the afternoons we would get our hands dirty doing practical work at the house we live in. It started out great.

We visited the people and had blessed moments in their homes. However, heavy rainfall changed our plans, we couldn't work for a couple of days and just set around the house. I asked God why? Why all this time?  He gave me an answer quickly. It was a gift. God was giving us time for ourselves. Our team is characterized by hard-working people and I (Jessica) had the impression, that God wanted to give us more free time than we had planned for this week. God wishes to have a deep relationship with us and this requires that we spend time with him. Many of us have to make important decisions because even the Discipleship training school has an end and most of us need a plan for the time after. We only find God's plan for us when we are silent and listening to God's voice. Therefore there was no reason for any of us to be frustrated. God showed us again that he wants to continue to encourage and reveal things to us through the little things. For this week it meant: Relax and listen to God's voice. And we'll keep this revelation of  "the little things"  in mind for the rest of our time here on outreach.

Unsere erste Woche in Sliven/Bulgarien startete mit einer guten Planung... An den Vormittagen wollten wir

verschiedene Gemeindemitglieder aus der Roma-Kirche besuchen und an den Nachmittagen Arbeitseinsätze auf dem Grundstück auf dem wir gerade wohnen, erledigen. Wir besuchten also verschiedene Leute und erlebten gute Momente in den Familien. Starker Regenfall änderte jedoch unsere Nachmittagspläne für einige Tage. Ich fragte mich warum und Gott gab mir schnell eine Antwort darauf. Wir durften es als Geschenk ansehen. Gott schenkte uns Zeit. Unser Team ist von fleißigen Arbeitern geprägt und ich (Jessica) hatte den Eindruck, dass es gut ist, dass wir in dieser Woche ein wenig mehr Zeit zum Entspannen bekommen als geplant. Gott wünscht sich eine tiefe Beziehung mit uns und ER kann sich uns nur offenbaren, wenn wir Zeit mit IHM verbringen. Jeder von uns steht vor wichtigen Entscheidungen, denn auch die Jüngerschaftstrainingsschule hat ein Ende und wir alle brauchen einen Plan "für danach". Diesen können wir nur herausfinden, wenn wir stille werden und hören was Gott uns sagen will. Es blieb also keine Zeit für Frustration und Gott hat uns wieder einmal gezeigt, dass er uns mit den kleinen Dingen ermutigt und sich neu offenbart. In dieser Woche bedeutete dies: Entspannen und Gottes Stimme hören. Und wir nehmen diese Erkenntnis mit in die nächste Zeit.
